Best color laser printer for home office use
The hl-2270dw is a compact, monochrome laser printer with built-in wireless and ethernet network interfaces for small office or home office printer sharing. it features a fast print speed up to 27ppm, automatic duplex printing for two-sided documents
Plenty of people still associate laser printers with those hulking things in office corners that break down every other week. I did. And as I result spent way too much money on a multifunction inkjet whose features I never use. So let me save you the trouble. If you don’t care about color, aren’t ever planning on printing out photos, and just want something to spit out text at a high rate of fire and on a regular basis, a laser printer is probably what you want.
Even for a fairly stripped down monochrome Best color laser printer 2019the Brother HL-2270DW is a remarkable deal.
M. David Stone at PCmag.com says its combination of fast speed, high-quality output, suitable paper capacity, and duplexing make it a serious bargain. Both PC World and Computer Shopper also praise the HL-2270’s wireless printing capabilities (you also get Ethernet and USB). The latter goes so far as to call it “the alpha male of the recent pack of low-cost mono lasers,” noting that its speeds are faster and that its cost of consumables is lower than other models in its class.
So how much is this Brother? It retails for $150, but you can find it hovering around the $100 mark, sometimes even lower. Of course, there were some corners to be cut in order to get the HL-2270 down to this pricepoint. Virtually everyone who’s reviewed it says the 2270 is not the sturdiest of printers owing to the fact that it’s mostly made of a flimsy black plastic. It also doesn’t have the most intuitive control panel, which is limited ta Go button and four lights labeled “Ready, Error, Drum, and Toner.” Still, none of this keeps the printer from reliably doing what you need it to do.
As far as competition goes, the $160 Samsung ML-2525W is also speedy monochrome printer but doesn’t have auto duplexing. It also has a higher cost per page (4.2 cents). The HL-2270 even bests the uber cheap HP Laser Jet Pro P1102w, which has a lower capacity paper try, higher per page costs, and a low monnthly duty cycles.
In the end, the HL-2270DW is simply one of the best options currently out there if you want a wallet friendly, no frills workhorse printer. Its reliable, clean, and quick, which is about all you can ask for in a basic printer. And given its tiny footprint (14.5 x 14.2 x 7.2), it’ll even fit in cramped workspaces.
